Years Surfing: 27

Competitive Highlights: Won the Mens division of the CSUS in 1992, Finished 5th in the WSA 1992 in Mens, made countless finals and won a few local events.

Travels: Hawaii, Indonesia, Fiji, Nicaragua, Mainland Mexico, Ireland, France, California, New Jersey, and Florida. 

BIO: I grew up in the lovely town of Van Nuys California. In the heart of the San Fernando Valley. Lucky for me my parents loved the beach and we owned a beach house in La Conchita. Many weekend and all summer we would spend our "family" time at the beach. I grew up with 5 girl cousins that lived in LC and 3 of them surfed before me. Once I started at the age of 10 I was hooked and nothing else mattered. I moved to San Clemente after college and worked at Wave Action Surf Mag. After that I moved back to live in La Conchita full time. I realized I had a love of coaching surfers after working with Surf Happens Elite team. I know what the judges are looking for and how to translate what surfers are doing into better surfing and better scores. Two years ago I worked with Surf Happens for the summer camp and had the best time EVER in a job. The stoke that the kids had brought the stoke back to me. One surf stoked grom stands out to me. She was about 7 years old and this was her first time ever on a surfboard. We went out and I pushed her into several waves and she fell each time. I gave her a couple little words of advice and on the next wave she pop up and rode the wave all the way to the sand. She hit the sand running and ran up the beach about 30 yards and back with the biggest ear-to-ear smile. She was bouncing up and down saying "I did it, I did it."  That is the reason why l surf.
