Bio

deep_0311_finalproof 46.jpgI was born and raised in Santa Barbara Ca, and began surfing at the tender age of two and half years old. From the moment I first touched a board, as recalled by my mom since I was too young to remember, I was hooked on surfing. I spent the first couple years mostly being pushed into waves with floaties on since I was still learning to swim. I competed in my first competition at the age of 4 and took 3rd place in the 6 and under national championships in Haleiwa, Hawaii.

Throughout out my youth I grew up surfing and competing along side good friend Bobby Martinez and under the master coaching of Davey Smith. I competed in various Amateur events including the NSSA, to eventually turn Professional and begin competing on the WQS at the age of 18. Backed by Rusty Surfboards and apparel as my major sponsor I traveled the world competing for the next 5 years. My travels took me to nearly every ocean on this planet and I was able to surf some incredible waves and meet some amazing people.

Surfshot cover.jpgAt the age of 24 a great opportunity presented itself when I partnered up with Jason Feist and J7 Surfboards. Since then we have worked hard to build J7 Surfboards into an Internationally recognized brand.

I have recently started working with Chris Keets and Surf Happens. I find the program to be an excellent resource for surfers of all levels and I am very much looking forward to giving back much of what I have learned about the wonderful sport of surfing! See you in the water!
