Surfer Of The Month

Jason and Jeffrey Knell
Some kids are born with the surfing gene deeply ingrained into their lives from a very young age. Their father Jim is an all around water man excelling in just about every discipline in the sport from longboarding, to windsurfing, kiteboarding, to riding an SUP, while mom Terri is the ultimate surfing mom taking the kids to the beach nearly every Day with treats to boot!
Following in their fathers foot steps both Jason and Jeffrey excel in both Short and long boarding and have recently been making waves in the Competitive scene helping to lead Crane School to victory in event #2 of The 2010-1011 Scholastic Surfing Series. After achieving his first win in double overhead surf last winter at C-street Jason continued his success last summer winning the 5th annual Surf Happens Fiesta De Las Olas at Playa Esterillos, Costa Rica against a stacked local field of talent. Recently, Jason finished 3rd and second in the opening two events of the Scholastic Surf Series amasing a whomping 17.8 points out of a total twenty in his semi final bout. Jason is now eyeing the 2011 Quiksilver Rincon Classic to take the title, and is eager to take his first win of the season in the SSS as well.
Jason is an all around style and power based surfer who charges when the waves get overhead. His favorite turns are getting barreled and power hacks, but is now focusing on bringing his aerial game to the plate. Jeffrey is a style master with courage and skill well beyond his years. His number One goal is to beat his brother in competition, which he achieved in the Scholastic Surfing Series opener in the long boarding division. As the youngest competitor in The SSS middle school league Jeffrey made is first shortboard final and finished Third in event number 2 in Oxnard earlier this month. His technique is getting more Polished every day with patented layback hacks and lip glides. As his competitive game And strategy gets more solid and his fin free turns progress he is sure to get into the Winners circle.
